How does it work?
To offer you the best possible service, your request will be handled directly by our distribution partner in the UK. You’ll find the exact process further down on this page.

How much does a retrofit cost?
- Costs for retrofitting services vary depending on the type of retrofit. Detailed pricing will be provided in your quote.
- If the product needs to be cleaned prior to retrofitting we will charge an additional £5.
What are the conditions?
- If your product is damaged during a modification carried out by us, we will of course replace it with a product we have in stock.
- All products sent in for retrofitting must be clean, as only clean products can be modified.
- Retrofitting older products will only be accepted under reserve.
The Retrofit Process
1. Contact customer service
Before sending your product in, please check with us whether a retrofit is possible.
Email us at ortlieb@lyon.co.uk with a brief description of your desired product modification.
Please attach a clear picture of your product so that we can make an initial assessment.
2. Approve the retrofit
Our customer service will contact you to let you know if the product modification is possible, provide a quote for the work and give you an address to send the product to if you would like to go-ahead.
3. Send your product
Please remove all personal items as well as any attachments such as mounts or adapters, and clean the product thoroughly. This ensures we can handle it safely and hygienically.
Once prepared, please send the product to the address provided.
4. We retrofit your product
Once we have received your shipment, we will process your product modification as quickly as possible and contact you for payment if applicable.
Once the retrofit is complete, we’ll send your product back to you.
